Attending Book Fairs

Book fairs are a lot of fun but can easily become a hassle if you aren’t prepared. Doing research and planning things in advance will help you enjoy the best experience.

Here are a few things you should keep in mind when attending a book fair:

  • create a list of exhibitions to visit
  • bring a bag with ample space for your stuff and possible purchases (some fairs provide you with boxes)
  • make a list of specific books you want to buy
  • bring a mixture of cash and credit.
  • bring snacks and water (fairs can be exhausting to navigate)
  • make sure you wear comfortable clothes (get an extra pair if you feel you need them)
  • bring tissues, alcohol, an extra handkerchief, etc. to clean yourself up if necessary.

Get there early and leave late. The important thing is you enjoy the hell out of the event. And of course, be nice to your fellow book lovers. With so many people in one space, it’s easy for tempers to flare up.
