TCK Publishing now has an open call for submissions. That means you can submit your book manuscript or book proposal for review whether or not you are currently working with a literary agent.
We only accept submissions for original works. All manuscripts are run through advanced plagiarism checking software to certify originality.
We publish both fiction and non-fiction titles, so our submission guidelines are broken down separately for fiction and non-fiction:
Nonfiction Submission Guidelines
We publish nonfiction books in all major markets except for memoir if they meet the following guidelines:
- You must be an expert in your market with a unique message to share. Here are two such examples: Unlimited Memory and Heal Breast Cancer Naturally.
- Your book must solve a particular problem, provide proven solutions, or offer unique and fresh insights for readers.
- We accept simultaneous submissions and submissions from authors with or without literary agents.
We accept submissions for nonfiction books in the following markets:
- Health and Wellness
- Finance and Investing
- Religious / Spiritual
- Self Help / Personal Development
- Advice and How-To
We may accept nonfiction submissions in other markets if the author can demonstrate a very large fan base and a strong marketing plan.
To submit your nonfiction book or book proposal for consideration, please fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this page or at www.tckpublishing.com/contact. Please include your full name and a brief (2-3 sentence) synopsis or description of your book.
Note: We do not currently accept submissions for memoirs.
Fiction Submission Guidelines
We do not publish or accept submissions for poetry or children’s picture books (however, we do run an annual poetry contest with a prize of $1,000).
Other than that, we will consider publishing fiction books in most genres if they meet the following guidelines:
- You must have a completed full-length novel (40,000+ words minimum, depending on genre).
- Your story must be original. We do not accept fanfiction submissions.
- We do accept simultaneous submissions and submissions from authors with or without literary agents.
We accept fiction submissions in the following genres:
- Science Fiction
- Young Adult
- New Adult
- Middle Grade
- Historical Fiction
- Erotic Romance / Erotica
- Children’s Books
Note: We do not publish short stories or novellas unless the author has already published at least one successful full-length novel in the same series with us.
Review Your Manuscript Before You Submit
Please do your best to edit your manuscript before you submit it for review. If we find countless typos, mistakes, or plot holes in your manuscript, your chances of getting a book deal will be very low.
The submissions that tend to stand out and are most likely to be accepted for a publishing deal are those that are well-edited.
How to Submit a Manuscript
Simply fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this page or at www.tckpublishing.com/contact. Please include your full name and a brief (2-3 sentence) synopsis or description of your book.
After you contact us via email or the form on this page, we’ll send you instructions for submitting your manuscript or book proposal. You cannot upload a manuscript directly on this web page.
Our team created a book submission template file for Microsoft Word. You can download it and use it to make sure your manuscript is properly formatted.
If you have written more than one book, please submit only the one (1) book you’re most excited about. Feel free to mention in your note that you’ve written multiple books, but only send us one manuscript for review at a time.
If our editors decide to publish your manuscript, we can then have a conversation with you about potentially publishing other books you’ve written.
If your manuscript or book proposal isn’t a good fit for us to publish, feel free to send us another submission for a different book after we’ve responded to your first submission. Our editors ask that you do not submit multiple manuscripts to us at the same time.
Please email us at www.tckpublishing.com/contact with a link to your portfolio. We do not accept physical samples because we work only with digital files for eBook, print, and audiobook publishing.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Here are the answers to some of the most common questions about manuscript submissions:
Do you accept unsolicited manuscripts?
Yes, we accept unsolicited manuscripts, and we review all submissions within 14-21 days.
Note: Due to an increase in submissions recently, it may take us longer to provide a formal response to a submitted manuscript.
Do you accept book proposals?
Yes, we do accept book proposal submissions for nonfiction books.
What if I don’t have an agent?
No problem! Most of our submissions are from unagented authors, although we do accept submission from literary agents. If we do a deal with you directly, you’ll be able to keep your full share of our generous 50% royalties.
How much can I earn with TCK Publishing?
At TCK Publishing, we believe in creating long-term partnerships that are good for you and for us. That’s why we pay 50% net royalties, so our authors earn 3-6 times the amount of royalties they would with a typical traditional publisher. Our goal is to help authors earn a full-time income from book sales.
How much does it cost?
We’re a no-fee independent book publishing company. That means we never charge a fee to publish books. We earn our profit when we sell books for you.
Do you guarantee you will publish my book?
No, we cannot guarantee we will publish your book.
Even if you meet all the guidelines on this page, we review all submitted manuscripts and decide on a case-by-case basis if it makes sense for us to offer a deal to the author. Authors who are receptive to constructive criticism and are willing to set their egos aside in order to learn and grow are welcome to resubmit their manuscripts for consideration after making editorial changes.
In the last year, we acquired less than 1% of manuscript submissions.
Do You Accept Physical Submissions?
No, we do not review any physical manuscripts. Any submissions sent to us by mail will be discarded, so please help us save trees by submitting your manuscript for review electronically and filling out the contact form on this page.
Note: After we receive your query letter, we will respond to your email, and you may then submit your manuscript via email. Please ensure your manuscript or book proposal is ready to review in Microsoft Word (either .docx or .doc format) so that our editors can easily review your work.
